Avelo Airlines is set to begin operations out of Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport starting this Wednesday.
The airline, which unveiled its plans to commence services from Rochester on March 15, will offer two flights per week to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
The choice of Rochester was largely influenced by the strength of the city’s economy, according to Avelo’s director of airport operations.
This move marks Avelo Airlines’ second expansion in New York State, continuing its growth strategy across the region. As the airline launches its services in Rochester, the city will undoubtedly benefit from increased connectivity and potentially a boost in local tourism.
