Future of Great Northern Mall a little clearer now

Hart Lyman Company, under the ownership of Guy Hart Jr., is set to gain control of the ailing Great Northern Mall by July 2023, with plans to create a walkable mixed-use town center.

Hart Jr. originally announced the purchase agreement in August 2022 but faced complications necessitating legal action against previous owner, Mike Kohan, for allegedly violating the purchase agreement terms.

The envisioned town center, a part of the county’s comprehensive plan for community-centered growth, is expected to include various apartment options, medical offices, restaurants, and entertainment facilities.

In anticipation of the White Pine Commerce Park deal, now officially involving Micron, Hart Jr.’s plans for the mall have expanded, with an estimated investment in the area exceeding $100 million.
