Yates County officially has its own EMS service.
The county-run service for Emergency Services and Advanced Life Support went into service over the weekend.
The ambulance will serve the southeastern portion of the county, according to Finger Lakes News Radio. It will be a backup to the county’s volunteer ambulance agencies.
A second ALS transporting ambulance will be placed into service this week.
Medic 62 went into service last week as well.
