Adrian Avena, a professional angler from New Jersey, emerged victorious in the Bass Pro Tour’s Stage Five Presented ATG by Wrangler on Cayuga Lake, New York.
Avena showcased his prowess in catching big smallmouth bass, accumulating a total weight of 58 pounds over two days of intense competition. His outstanding performance secured him the first-ever Bass Pro Tour win, surpassing rookie Spencer Shuffield by a margin of 2 pounds.
Avena’s key strategy revolved around targeting spawning smallmouth bass in the southern end of Cayuga Lake.

While other top anglers pursued the same tactic, Avena stood out by consistently landing 6-pounders, giving him an edge over his competitors who were mainly catching 4s and 5s.
