In an update from the City of Corning on June 9, a Hornell resident was arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing.

The Corning Police Department reported responding to a Northside residence at around 6:18 p.m., following a reported dispute that led to a 33-year-old man being stabbed in the chest.

The victim was privately transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A 911 caller provided the police with the suspect’s name and description, leading to the identification of the perpetrator as 29-year-old Adam C. Clark of Hornell.

Clark was found by officers near Bridge Street, but fled on foot, resulting in a brief chase. He was apprehended near the intersection of Bridge Street and Ontario Street.

He was subsequently charged with first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment in CAP Court on June 10.
