Cayuga Lake Wine Trail to host vineyard event with man’s best friend in mind

In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is hosting a two-week-long event dubbed “Wag Your Tail Along the Trail” from June 1 to 14.

The event welcomes both dog owners and enthusiasts to explore twelve participating vineyards where guests can enjoy wine tastings, and their four-legged companions can savor treats at each stop.

Visitors will also receive a scavenger hunt punch card that will be filled through various activities such as wine purchases, photo booth participation, and donations to local shelters.

Furthermore, the wine trail aims to give back to the community during the event by setting up four of the participating wineries as donation locations for local shelters including Beverly Animal Shelter, Fetch a Friend Rescue, Finger Lakes SPCA, and Ithaca Street Dogs.

Some wineries will also feature dog-themed photo booths and serve dog-friendly ice cream. The event is free to attend, with the option to preregister online, granting each registered pup a complimentary bandana. Walk-ins are also welcomed throughout the event duration. The grand prize for the scavenger hunt includes an overnight stay at the Cayuga Lake Cabins, a wine tour, gift cards, and more.
