Yankees’ Aaron Judge, Nestor Cortes headed to injured list

The New York Yankees have lost two of their key players to injuries.

Aaron Boone spoke to reporters following Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox and said Aaron Judge and Nestor Cortes will be placed on the injured list on Wednesday.

Judge has a contusion and a sprained ligament in his right big toe after colliding with the right-field wall while making a catch last weekend. He received a PRP injection, but there is no timeline yet for his return.

Cortes was diagnosed with a left shoulder strain. He also had a PRP injection and will be shut down from throwing for 15 days.

This will be the second time Judge and Cortes have landed on the IL this season.
