The Downtown Ithaca Alliance (DIA) has announced the appointment of Nan Rohrer as the new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding former Executive Director Gary Ferguson.
Baltimore-based Rohrer, known for her extensive background in business development, is set to relocate to Ithaca and start work by early July.
She takes over from Ferguson, who announced his retirement in February after a notable 24-year tenure marked by significant growth and development, including the addition of three hotels, 1,000 housing units, and the construction of several strategic plans for economic expansion.
The decision to appoint Rohrer followed a comprehensive nationwide search conducted by Pittsburgh-based executive search firm HRS, under the guidance of former DIA Board Chair Ashely Cake and a team of volunteers.
