Large LED sign installed in Watkins Glen with goal to bolster community engagement

Schuyler County has a new electronic sign on Franklin Street, designed to bolster community engagement by promoting local events, sharing health information, and providing emergency updates.

The goal of the new LED sign is to raise awareness for community happenings like historical walks, vaccination clinics, and the forthcoming Waterfront Festival.

The installation was a collaborative effort between the Schuyler County Community Services and Public Health departments. It replaced an older LED sign that went into place since 2013. Residents wishing to have a message displayed on the LED sign can make a submission via the Schuyler County website.

Submissions should be made two weeks in advance, and content promoting for-profit businesses, personal celebrations or similar subjects won’t be permitted. Messages may be edited for clarity or size, and in case of an emergency need, the office can be reached at 607-535-8140.
