Pediatrician Adam Weis admitted guilt to a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child, altering his plea from not guilty during a court hearing on Wednesday.
This plea change came after striking a deal with prosecutors, resulting in Weis agreeing to surrender his medical license and serve a three-year probation period.
Weis, an employee of Rochester Regional Health since 2016 and a practitioner at Wolcott Pediatrics, was accused of inappropriate conduct with a nine-year-old girl in Webster last November. Rochester
Regional Health stated that Weis was placed on administrative leave once the investigation started, clarifying that the case did not involve a patient and was unrelated to his medical practice. Weis is scheduled for another court appearance in August.
