Late Tuesday afternoon, an accident on Route 13 near Stewart Park exit resulted in a male motorcyclist sustaining serious injuries.
He was swiftly attended to by multiple emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance responders. Reports confirm the crash did not involve any other vehicles, however it caused significant delays to the southbound evening commute.
The injured man was treated onsite by Bangs Ambulance paramedics before being transferred via LifeNet medevac helicopter from a landing zone at Ithaca High School to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
The response was a coordinated effort, involving the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and Ithaca Fire Department.
