Cayuga County tourism prepares for major rebound in 2023

As Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer and the tourism season in the Finger Lakes, Auburn and Cayuga County are poised to see visitor numbers bounce back to pre-pandemic levels.

Gillian Sears from the Equal Rights Heritage Center tells Finger Lakes News Radio that tourism for the area may either match or come close to figures recorded prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sears also predicts a continued upward trend in visitation and tourism throughout 2023.

The Equal Rights Heritage Center & Auburn NY Visitors Center, which drew more than 20,000 visitors in its inaugural year of 2019, saw a significant drop to under 5,000 visitors in 2020 due to the pandemic.
