Police concerned for missing Ithaca man’s safety: Investigation and search underway

The Ithaca Police Department provided an update on a missing person’s search that’s unfolding in Tompkins County.

Thomas Rath, 33, of Ithaca was last seen in the natural area behind Lowes, commonly referred to as the Jungle, on May 17.


Police say the circumstances around his disappearance are suspicious and they are concerned for his safety.

On May 27 a joint foot search for Rath was conducted with no findings.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact IPD.

He’s described as approximately 6-feet tall, weighing about 145 lbs. He was wearing black jeans, carrying a blue bag.

He has several tattoos including a black and pink heart on his neck.
