Deputies arrested a 29-year-old Bath resident following an assault investigation.
According to a news release, Joshua Jackson, 29, of Bath struck and injured an inmate at the Steuben County Jail.
He was incarcerated at the jail on unrelated charges.
Jackson was also accused of possessing a weapon unlawfully inside the jail.
As result, he was charged with felony counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, as well as a misdemeanor count of obstruction.
Jackson was remanded back to the jail and will answer the charges at a later date.
