In a bid to revitalize the town, Waterloo’s Image, Identity, and Public Spaces Committee transformed into the Revitalization of Waterloo Committee in 2021.
This change came after co-owner of Gridley Inn, Stephanie Krzysik, joined the committee alongside other notable community members. Their mission is to introduce new programs to attract visitors and stimulate potential businesses to occupy the empty downtown storefronts.
The newly renamed committee, now registered as a non-profit organization, has planned four community events for this year, including a village-wide garage sale, a food truck rodeo and car show, a cornhole tournament benefiting the local fire department, and a Zombie 5K run and walk to support the Beverly Animal Shelter and Boy Scout Troop 74.
