Man tries to intentionally run down person in Ithaca

Police are investigating an incident where a pedestrian was almost run over by a driver in the city of Ithaca.


On May 19 around 4:30 p.m. IPD were dispatched to the area of Abbott Lane and Chestnut Street for a pedestrian who had just evaded being run over by another person in a vehicle.

Officers located the victim who reported jumping over a rock wall while another male, who was known to him, attempted to run him over.

The driver struck the rock wall and drove away.

The suspect was later identified as Anthony Fleming, 19, of Ithaca, who was charged with a felony count of attempted assault and held on $30,000 bail.
