For the second time in three days, the New York Mets battled back from multiple deficits and picked up a victory, this time defeating the Cleveland Guardians, 10-9, in 10 innings on Francisco Lindor’s walk-off single.
After Cleveland took a two-run lead in the top of the tenth, New York rallied back on an RBI single from Mark Vientos. Pinch-runner Eduardo Escobar stole second base, allowing him to score on Francisco Alvarez’s single.
That brought up Lindor, who hit an Emmanuel Clase pitch back up the middle for the game-winner.
