Yankees blanked by Blue Jays in extra-inning loss

The New York Yankees (25-20) offense generated just three hits and fell to the Toronto Blue Jays (25-18), 3-0, in 10 innings on Wednesday night at the Rogers Centre.

After the Yankees failed to score with a runner on third and one out in the top of the tenth inning, Danny Jansen crushed a walk-off home run off Wandy Peralta to give Toronto the victory.

New York went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left ten on base.

Gerrit Cole tossed six shutout innings while striking out six. Clay Holmes, Jimmy Cordero, and Michael King did a terrific job in relief, keeping the game scoreless.

The Yankees will try to bounce back and win the series on Thursday with Nestor Cortes on the mound. The first pitch is set for 7:07 p.m.
