The New York Mets have called up infield prospect Mark Vientos from Triple-A Syracuse, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Vientos, the Mets’ No. 7 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is hitting .333/.416/.688 with 13 home runs and 37 RBIs at Triple-A this season.
The Mets, who have really struggled offensively over the last few weeks, hope Vientos can provide a spark.
Vientos is expected to be in Wednesday’s lineup against the Cincinnati Reds.
