Deputies: Romulus man held woman down, took her phone during domestic

Deputies arrested a Romulus man following a domestic incident where he held a person against their will.


According to a news release, deputies arrested Matthew Whitney, 48, of Romulus for criminal mischief, unlawful imprisonment, and harassment.

The arrest stemmed from an incident where Whitley allegedly held a woman down against her will and took her phone away so she couldn’t call 911.

He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
