Deputies arrested a Canandaigua man on felony charges after an investigation at the Ontario County Jail.
According to a news release, Russell Carlson, 45, was arrested for aggravated family offense after an investigation into events that happened on May 12 at Pod 5 of the Ontario County Jail.
Carlson was issued a stay away order of protection on may 10 where he was directed to have no contact with the protected party.
Carlson violated the terms of it; and since he had already been convicted of criminal contempt- the new charge was elevated to felony status.
The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
