Seneca Falls Central School District residents head to the polls on Tuesday to elect new members to the Board of Education. There are three open spots but only two names will appear on the ballot. The third will be selected from the write-in candidates. One of those looking to serve on the Board of Eduction, and hoping for write-in votes, is Mynderse Academy graduate (Class of 1998) Erica Sinicropi. Learn more about Erica in her own words below.
My name is Erica Sinicropi and I would be honored to represent this community as a member of the Seneca Falls Central School District Board of Education!
I am a lifelong resident of this community and a member of the Mynderse Academy class of 1998. I have been an educator for 20 years; having had the opportunity to serve as a special education teacher and school administrator. Most importantly, my husband and I are the proud parents of two children that attend the district; members of the class of 2030 and 2031, respectively.

As an educator, I have always been a strong advocate for supporting all students in reaching their fullest potential. Currently, I am a Principal of Special Education for a local BOCES. I find meaning in my work, assisting all students to overcome obstacles and become the best that they can be. I approach this work with creativity, enthusiasm and a solution-driven mindset to do “whatever it takes” to ensure students have what they need to learn and educators have what they need to teach.
As a parent, I volunteer at school and in the community. I find no greater pleasure in life than when I can be actively engaged in supporting my children’s development not only in my home, but in the community. Throughout the last few years, I have engaged with many teachers, school staff and (your) children by attending my son or daughter’s school activities or chaperoning their field trips. I have built positive relationships with young athletes and their families by coaching Seneca Falls Recreation and Little League teams. I have supported my daughter’s GIrl Scout Troop with community events and through their ever-popular cookie sales. Through this work, I am able to connect with and appreciate not only my own children, but our community at large.
While I truly value the work that I have done and continue to do as a school leader supporting public education in neighboring communities, if elected as a SFCSD BOE member, I would be able to give back to my district for the meaningful experiences and education that I received, as well as merge my professional and personal experiences and passions to support the students and staff within my own school district!
As a parent, educator, school leader and community volunteer; I truly “get it!” I am passionate about our school community! I understand and value where we came from and am excited at the possibility of being a part of its future! I am confident that I would add value to the SFCSD as a member of our school board!
Please write “ERICA SINICROPI” on the open line of the SFCSD BOE ballot on Tuesday, May 16th!! Thank you for your support!!
