The Canandaigua Police Department is investigating a suspicious package that was left at a local business this week.
The package was left at a West Avenue business late-Thursday, according to authorities, which prompted a response from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad.
The call came from the Dollar General a little after 6 p.m. However, that’s not where the package was actually identified.
The package was near another business on West Avenue, which was not identified.
“There were some unusual circumstances regarding the condition of the package, so as a precaution the area around the business was secured and the Monroe County bomb squad responded to evaluate the package,” Chief Matthew Nielsen told the Finger Lakes Times.
The investigation remains active.
