The New York Yankees (21-17) completed the three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics (8-30) with an 11-3 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Harrison Bader stayed red-hot at the plate, crushing a three-run home run, while DJ LeMahieu also went deep. Anthony Rizzo drove in a run with a single, and Gleyber Torres added a sacrifice fly to round out the scoring.

Jhony Brito gave up a pair of runs on five hits over 4 1/3 innings. The right-hander also walked two and struck out three.

Jimmy Cordero tossed 1 2/3 shutout innings in relief of Brito and picked up the win. Deivi García made his first big-league appearance since May 29, 2021, and surrendered a home run over three innings while picking up his first Major League save.

The Yankees will open a four-game series with the first-place Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday in the Bronx. Domingo Germán will take the ball in the opener. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
