Yankees’ offense stays hot in win over Athletics

The New York Yankees (20-17) offense stayed hot as they picked up a 10-5 series-clinching victory over the Oakland Athletics (8-29) on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.

New York fell behind 1-0 in the second inning but quickly responded with a five-run third and rolled to a second-straight win.

Gleyber Torres and Jake Bauers each crushed two-run homers to lead the way. Torres also had an RBI single, and Bauers added a sacrifice fly. Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, and Harrison Bader collected RBIs to round out the scoring.

Clarke Schmidt tossed six innings of two-run ball, collecting his first Major League win.

The Yankees will try to sweep the Athletics on Wednesday at 12:35 with Jhony Brito on the bump.
