A high-speed police chase in Victor ended with a suspect suffering life-threatening injuries after his car collided with an SUV. The driver and two young passengers in the SUV were also taken to the hospital.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reported that at around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a deputy observed a white Hyundai driving erratically on Route 96 in Farmington. When the deputy attempted to pull the car over, the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Kevin Cole, allegedly accelerated into the Village of Victor. While evading law enforcement, Cole’s vehicle sideswiped the deputy’s patrol car, which was stuck in traffic.
After the collision, the deputy ceased pursuit as Cole continued speeding along Route 96 in Victor. However, just minutes later, Cole reportedly ran a red light at County Road 42, leading to a crash with the SUV. Cole was subsequently transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries deemed life-threatening. The 50-year-old driver of the SUV and the two children, aged 9 and 12, sustained serious injuries but are expected to recover.
