The New York Mets signed veteran catcher Gary Sanchez to a minor-league contract, the club announced Tuesday.
Sanchez will earn $1.5 million if he makes the big-league roster and an additional $1.2 million in incentives, per Jon Heyman of The New York Post.
The 30-year-old spent seven seasons with the New York Yankees before being traded to the Minnesota Twins right before the 2022 season.
After going unsigned this past offseason, Sanchez signed a minor-league contract with the San Francisco Giants and never earned a call-up, so he opted out of the deal.
Sanchez will report to Triple-A Syracuse.
