Deputies report the arrest of a 29-year-old Bath resident following an escape investigation at the Steuben County Jail.

Joshua Jackson, 29, is accused of trying to escape from the jail, by climbing into the ceiling of the booking area. He caused $1,500 worth of damage, according to deputies.

It’s further alleged that Jackson then resisted arrest and injured an officer while doing so. He was charged with felony counts of assault, escape, and criminal mischief.

Jackson was never not in custody and remained incarcerated after the incident.
