Troopers give update on fraud investigation: Waterloo man accused of stealing $544K from employer

State police provided an update on the fraud investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a Waterloo resident.

Nicholas E. Argetsinger, age 64, of Waterloo, also known as Kirk B. Piersma, of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested for felony scheme to defraud, and three counts of felony grand larceny.

The arrest follows a fraud investigation initiated by a business in the city of Geneva.

Argetsinger is accused of redirecting over $1.8 million of his employer’s revenue into his bank account, enabling him to steal an aggregate of more than $544,000 during his three years of employment.

Argetsinger was arraigned and will answer the charges in city court at a later date.
