Auburn cannabis facility with promise of 100 jobs dead after state delays

A Colorado company has decided it won’t build a cannabis production facility in Cayuga County.

Terrapin was expecting to build a facility in Auburn that would have created around 100 jobs, according to reporting by The Citizen.

However, that same reporting cited ‘painful delays’ in the launch of New York’s legal cannabis industry.

A rep for the company told The Citizen that delays have made it ‘impossible’ to move forward. They had planned on building a facility in the city’s Technology Park, which would have cost $20 or $30 million.

That official had nothing but positive things to say about local officials from Auburn and Cayuga County. The issue with getting this project off the ground was one born at the state-level.
