Police in Rochester say a Canandaigua man was shot after a dispute over drugs in the city.

The incident happened in the area of Nye Park and Norton Street, where RPD was dispatched for a reported shooting.

The 23-year-old Canandaigua resident was not identified. However, he was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with at least one, non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot by at least one person during a dispute over drugs.

Police said the investigation remains active, and anyone with information that could help are encouraged to contact RPD.
