Seneca Meadows will hold 20th annual Mulch Day Giveaway on Saturday, May 13

Seneca Meadows is commemorating its 40th anniversary with the 20th annual Mulch Day Giveaway on Saturday, May 13, from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. The event will take place at Seneca Meadows, located at 1786 Salcman Road in Waterloo. The company will be offering free hardwood mulch, available in black and natural brown, to Seneca County residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

Seneca Meadows employees will assist in loading two scoops of mulch onto participants’ pick-up trucks, trailers, or containers using a skid steer or by hand until supplies are depleted. To ensure safety, attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles during the event.

This year, the company is introducing a “Christmas in May” theme in collaboration with the Waterloo High School Honor Society. The students are gathering toys for the Seneca County Community Christmas Project. Seneca Meadows encourages participants to bring a new, unopened toy as a voluntary contribution, which the students will collect on-site during Mulch Day. Although not required to receive free mulch, the toy donations are greatly appreciated.

Kyle Black, District Manager for Seneca Meadows, expressed gratitude for the community’s generosity. “For 40 years, we have been connecting with our neighbors and serving our community. Our neighbors are very generous and kind, and our Christmas in May theme will be a helpful way for us all to benefit children in our community this Christmas,” he said.
