A fatal accident occurred on Saturday on the Thruway, resulting in the tragic death of two international students. Olivia Moore, a 21-year-old from the United Kingdom, was driving a 2022 Kia Soul westbound on I-90 when the vehicle unexpectedly veered onto the north shoulder and collided with a guiderail end. Moore and the rear driver’s side passenger, Francesca Ward, also 21 and from the United Kingdom, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their bodies were transported to Geneva General Hospital for an autopsy.
Two other passengers in the vehicle, Inesa Meshko Kosei, a 21-year-old from Spain, and Reina Haga, a 22-year-old from Japan, were taken to Clifton Springs Hospital for evaluation. All four occupants were international students at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the time of the crash, the group was reportedly on their way to Toronto, Canada, for sightseeing.
