The New York Yankees (15-13) offensive struggles continued Saturday night as they dropped their second straight with a 2-0 loss to the Texas Rangers (16-11) at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
New York managed just three infield singles against former Yankee Nathan Eovaldi, who tossed a complete-game shutout.
Jhony Brito made one mistake over five innings, which resulted in a two-run home run. Aside from that, the right-hander allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out five.
The bullpen was excellent again as Ron Marinaccio, Ian Hamilton, and Wandy Peralta had scoreless appearances.
The Yankees will try to split the four-game series on Sunday with Nestor Cortes on the bump. The first pitch is slated for 2:35 p.m.
