An overnight structure fire in Freeville brought together multiple fire departments from three counties early this morning. The blaze occurred at a building located at 15 Railroad Street/NY 38, near Bravo restaurant.
One person lost their life in the blaze, while another was transported to an area hospital. The identity of the person who died was not released.
The building involved in the incident is a multi-family home, with the fire originating on the top floor apartment. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Fire departments that responded to the scene included Freeville, Locke, McLean, Cortlandville, Groton, and the Ithaca Airport.
