A longtime Lyons furniture store is shutting down.
Herman Brothers, which has been at the center of Lyons’ downtown for decades, first opening in 1945.
It was first an appliance repair shop, which evolved into the current furniture store after relocating to Geneva Street.
After being in business for 78 years the exact closure date comes down to when stock is sold out.
Owner Gene Herman, 70, spoke to the Finger Lakes Times about the closure, and said, “I’ve kept a huge amount of product in stock, so it’s a matter of liquidating it all, and I can’t tell you when it’s going to happen.”
