A fire in the town of Locke resulted in the loss of two lives on April 24. The fire broke out at 166 Canaan Heights Road, completely engulfing the residential structure.
Emergency responders from the SP Auburn Troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:11 a.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered the intense flames consuming the residence, leaving them to battle the raging inferno.
Sadly, two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims are being withheld until their next of kin have been informed of the tragedy.
The New York State Police are collaborating with state fire investigators in order to determine the cause and origin of the fire. As the investigation remains ongoing, further details will be provided as they become available to the public.
