IPD reported on Tuesday that around 11 p.m. on Monday officers were dispatched to the 600 block of West State Street for a reported shooting.
It was learned that the shooting took place at an apartment building in the 300 block of North Meadow Street. Evidence of the shooting was found at that location and the building was canvassed.
Police said in a news release that multiple people entered the building and one fired at a handgun at the victim. The subjects then quickly fled in a dark colored SUV.
Before leaving the scene, the SUV nearly caused an accident because the driver didn’t turn the lights on.
While on scene IPD were dispatched to a stabbing that happened at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Spencer Road. Officers located the victim, who was bleeding heavily and transported to a regional trauma center.
The suspect fled, according to police.
Both victims are expected to survive, police added in the news release Tuesday. The two incidents were not related. However, police announced both investigations at the same time.
IPD is asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact them.
