Super Bowl Champion and 2015 Hobart College graduate Ali Marpet returned to campus this week to be inducted into the Hobart Athletics Hall of Fame. Marpet, who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, participated in every game during his seven-year professional career, including the team’s victory over Kansas City in Super Bowl LV in 2021. As the 61st overall pick in the 2015 draft, Marpet became the highest-selected Division III player in history.

While at Hobart, Marpet was a four-time Liberty League Champion and named to four All-America teams following his senior season. The Statesmen achieved a 41-5 record during his tenure, earning four consecutive NCAA playoff bids and reaching the quarterfinals in 2012 and 2014.

The 2023 inductees also include football stars Tyre Coleman (class of 2015) from Poughkeepsie and Shawn Mizro (class of 2007) from Fairport. Lacrosse players Harold Draffen (class of 1975) from Hempstead, Kevin Martin (class of 1981) from Clinton, and Scott Petosa (class of 1980) from Chittenango were also inducted.

Other inductees are Keith Longo (class of 2009) from Montrose, California, for hockey, Rob Pisanelli (class of 2000) from Pittsford for basketball, and Jeffrey Thon (class of 1977) from Penfield for both football and baseball. National Champion Head Hockey Coach Mark Taylor from Geneva also joined the inductees.

The Class of 2023 will bring the Hobart Hall of Fame’s total to 135 legendary Statesmen.
