Rochester man arrested with fentanyl, cocaine, and loaded handgun during traffic stop

On April 20, 2023, troopers from the State Police (SP) Rochester conducted a traffic stop on Dunan Street in the city of Rochester due to vehicle and traffic violations.

The driver, 31-year-old Calvin J. Taylor from Rochester, immediately fled on foot, prompting a brief pursuit before being apprehended.


Upon his arrest, Taylor was allegedly found in possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and a loaded .45 caliber handgun. He now faces multiple charges, including second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, obstruction, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Taylor was taken to the Monroe County Jail, where he awaits arraignment for the charges against him.
