Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Drew Smyly was perfect through seven innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday afternoon, but it ended on the second pitch of the eighth inning.

Dodgers outfielder David Peralta hit a slow roller up the third base line, Smyly and catcher Yan Gomes collided while trying to field the ball, and just like that, it was over.
