Matthew VanOrman, a long-serving educator with 21 years of experience in the Red Creek Central School District, has been appointed as the new superintendent.
The announcement was made at the Board of Education meeting on Wednesday night. VanOrman currently holds the position of middle school principal and has previously served as assistant principal/dean of students, athletic director, and physical education instructor.
VanOrman will continue to serve as the middle school principal for the remainder of the school year before officially assuming his new role as superintendent on July 1.
Dr. Greg Macaluso has been acting as interim superintendent after former Superintendent Dr. Brian Corey stepped down in November to take a position outside the district.
