A 30-year-old woman from Farmington has been convicted of felony grand larceny after stealing over $20,000 from a dental practice in Geneva where she worked. Breanna Reed was found guilty of fourth-degree grand larceny by an Ontario County Court jury on Monday following four hours of deliberation.
Reed’s trial began last week, with her initial arrest last year for third-degree grand larceny. However, a grand jury subsequently indicted her on the lesser charge. Assistant District Attorney Kaitlin Hastings, who prosecuted the case alongside ADA Victoria Porter, revealed that Reed had kept 11 deposit envelopes meant for the bank over a four-month period in 2021. The cash and checks in these envelopes totaled over $20,000.
The name of the dental office has not been disclosed by the police or prosecutors. Reed has since returned approximately $16,000 to the dental practice. Sentencing is set for June 8.
