CONCRETE JUNGLE: The MLB’s Problem with Rosin, Injury Updates for the Yankees (podcast)

The MLB has a problem. Rosin is a legal substance to help pitchers grip the ball, so why are the umpires going after pitchers? Paul Russo and Kyle Evans get to the bottom of it. Max Scherzer was ejected and faces a 10-game suspension for using a sticky substance on the mound. The substance was allegedly rosin, the same as the Yankees’ Domingo German over the weekend. The guys discuss the continuing issue and what, if anything, can be done about it. They also talk about the rest of the series for the Mets against the Dodgers and look ahead to the series in San Francisco.

The Yankees have split so far with the Angels. Paul and Kyle talk about Aaron Judge’s day yesterday, robbing an Ohtani home run and hitting one himself. The guys look at some important injury updates regarding Josh Donaldson and Carlos Rodon. Looking ahead, the Yankees finish the Angels’ series today and then focus on the Blue Jays for three games.

Paul and Kyle finish the podcast by catching up on the Red Wings and S-Mets. Rochester’s bats are really alive in Norfolk, while Syracuse has had to deal with the weather while hosting Durham.
