Geneva City Council members will discuss the potential of food trucks making a comeback within city limits, following a failed attempt in 2012 due to opposition from local restaurant owners.
City Manager Amie Hendrix announced that a City Hall team has started developing a plan to allow food trucks, which are currently prohibited in the city, even as they gain popularity across the region and nation.
Despite Hendrix’s proposed timeline, which includes a draft ordinance in June, some council members, such as At-Large Councilor Frank Gaglianese III, are advocating for a faster implementation in time for the busy summer months.
Council members are expected to receive an overview of possible areas to explore during the May meeting or a special work session.
