SUNY ends COVID-19 vaccine requirement for students

SUNY students will no longer need to receive a COVID-19 vaccine to head back to campus.

The state made that announcement on Tuesday, ending the mandate for all 64 of its campuses.

Officially the rules will sunset once the spring semester comes to an end.

So, for students taking summer or fall classes- the COVID-19 vaccine will not be necessary.

President Joe Biden announced the end of the national COVID-19 emergency this week.

Students offered mixed reactions to the news, most noting on social media that the rule wouldn’t change how they approached vaccinating or heading to college.
