The Mets and Yankees both took series victories over the weekend. For the Yankees, Aaron Judge powered the lineup over Baltimore, but he wasn’t alone. Paul Russo and Kyle Evans discuss the games against the Orioles and what they thought was more positive, the offense or the pitching. They also talk about a potential problem with the rotation for the Yankees, but there is some positive news. The guys look ahead to the series beginning Monday in Cleveland.
The Mets had a much-needed offensive surge over the weekend. Leading the way in Queens was Pete Alonso. Paul and Kyle talk about how big of a deal it is that the Mets’ lineup is showed up on the heels of the disastrous Milwaukee series. They also talk Kodai Senga’s awesome start on Saturday and how big it is that he is started off good considering Carlos Carrasco’s rough season to date. The guys then shift focus to the series verses the Padres beginning Monday night.
The first of the Thruway Cup battles is in the books. Syracuse took five of six games against Rochester last week on the back of good pitching and even better batting. Paul and Kyle look back at the week and ahead as Rochester heads home to play Buffalo and Syracuse heads down I-81 to play Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
