The New York Mets secured their second series win of the season on Saturday evening with a 5-2 victory over the Miami Marlins at Citi Field.
Pete Alonso and Eduardo Escobar led the way on the offensive side of the ball with a pair of two-run home runs. For Alonso, it was his fifth of the season and the first for Escobar.
Jeff McNeil also plated a run with a bases-loaded walk, while Mark Canha collected two hits.
Kodai Senga tossed six innings of one-run ball in his second big-league start while allowing just three hits and striking out six.
Drew Smith gave up the other run in relief of Senga. Brooks Raley, John Curtiss, and David Robertson recorded scoreless outings.
The Mets will try to sweep the three-game series on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. Carlos Carrasco will take the ball.
