Police are investigating shots fired during the late-afternoon hours on Tuesday in the city of Ithaca.
According to a news release, IPD heard what sounded like two gunshots in the area of Elm Street and Floral Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who said they saw a vehicle being shot at by an occupant in a second vehicle at the intersection of West State Street and Floral Avenue.
With help of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, police conducted a search and located evidence of the shooting.
Police are asking anyone with direct information about the event, or who may have witnessed it- to contact them by phone or through anonymous tip line.
