April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, an initiative aimed at reducing on-the-road-related injuries and fatalities.
The Director of Operations for the National Road and Safety Foundation, Michelle Anderson, stated that distracted driving is the leading cause of fatal car accidents in New York, with approximately 1,000 deaths in 2022.
Anderson emphasized that these deaths are preventable through awareness and the promotion of safe driving practices.
Distracted driving not only puts the driver at risk but also endangers everyone else on the road. It is important for drivers to understand the dangers of distracted driving to ensure their safety and that of others.
